On November 1st, the ACDC, in collaboration with the College of Southern Nevada, unveiled its Trade School Readiness Boot Camp. The primary goal? Funding from Sands Cares played a pivotal role in making this event a reality. This support isn't new; Sands has been a long-term partner of ACDC, also funding the College Readiness Boot Camp since 2015. This ongoing commitment highlights a dedication to youth development and career planning.
Vida Lin, ACDC's CEO and founder, emphasized the organization's long-term vision, stating, "We want to help all youth realize their goals, and the knowledge and tools presented at the boot camp will give a greater number of community members the opportunity to pursue successful careers."

Following the panel, guest speakers covered essential topics like career and financial planning. Herbie Walker, from Walker College Consultants, explained financial aid and the FAFSA process. Mae Calilung from Wells Fargo discussed personal banking basics, and Roselyn Noriega of EmployNV presented workforce opportunities. This comprehensive approach ensures students are well-prepared for their future careers.
Sands' commitment to ACDC extends beyond this boot camp. They've supported ACDC's youth programs for the past two years and provided funding for the API Language Link service since 2021 and the HAPI Medical Center since 2022. The increased contribution in 2025 enabled the launch of the trade school boot camp.
