Sony Pictures' Wonderverse in Oak Brook to Close This Month
Just under two years after its grand opening, Sony Pictures' immersive entertainment hub, Wonderverse, is set to shut its doors in Oak Brook this December. The announcement was made on the company's social media platforms on Thursday, with a statement indicating that operations will be concluded on December 22nd as the venue transitions to a new concept.
The exact nature of this new concept remains a mystery, leaving visitors and fans alike in anticipation. The 45,000-square-foot space, located in Oakbrook Center, was a hub of excitement when it first opened in January 2024, offering attractions inspired by Sony Pictures Entertainment's iconic properties, such as 'Ghostbusters,' 'Jumanji,' and 'Uncharted.'
For those who have already visited, Sony Pictures has provided a silver lining. Visitors with Wonderverse Play Cards or certificates are advised to redeem them by December 21st. The company has also assured that credits on purchased PlayCards are eligible for refunds to the original payment method. Any inquiries can be directed to Admin@WonderverseChicago.com.
Despite the impending closure, the venue is still scheduled to host events, including a special brunch with Santa on December 21st, giving visitors one last chance to experience the unique atmosphere before its transformation.
